Segment type deburring holders use segment brushes (nylon with abrasive grains, etc.) to maintain excellent stiffness by suppressing the spread of the brush with a brush guide plate, resulting in high deburring performance. Furthermore, even if the brushes wear out, the protrusion of the brushes can be adjusted, allowing the brushes to be used for a longer period of time, reducing tool costs and eliminating the hassle of replacing brushes, contributing to improved productivity. ■Current situation and issues

・Conventionally, cup brushes have been the most common type of brush used for surface machining, but stable deburring has been difficult because the bristles spread out due to centrifugal force and the cutting performance deteriorates due to abrasion of the bristles. ・If the workpiece has a wide machining surface, machining with a small diameter brush takes time.

■Development points

The segment type deburring holder uses a brush guide plate to maintain the stiffness of the brush, which provides excellent cutting performance. Furthermore, when the brush wears out, there is a mechanism to push it out, so the brush can be used to the end without wasting it, which contributes to ``reducing cutting tool costs'' and ``improving productivity'' by reducing the frequency of brush replacement. We have also developed a large diameter brush holder, making it possible to shorten the machining time for workpieces with large machining surfaces.
