The GP drill series uses PCD as the cutting edge material. It has high welding resistance against aluminum and enables stable machining accuracy even in one-shot machining. The lineup includes a 2-blade GP drill for solid hole drilling and a 3-blade GPT drill for cast hole drilling. By using the GP Drill series, you can reduce machining time and cutting tool costs in processes that traditionally require two steps.

■Current situation and issues
- Conventional carbide tools have problems with aluminum welding to the cutting edge, making it difficult to process in one shot.
・With the improvement of net shape technology, the number of workpieces with cast holes instead of blank holes has increased, but two-blade GP drills have had problems such as unstable machining accuracy due to the effects of cast holes.
■Development points
・Achieves stable machining accuracy even in one-shot machining using a GP drill that uses a PCD blade that is highly resistant to welding to aluminum.
・The GPT drill has three blades, making it less susceptible to the effects of cast holes and stabilizing machining accuracy.
