About This Product
The BAI 9100 D continuously monitors alpha and beta radioactive aerosols in the exhaust air or in the environment.
The dust collection unit allows rapid β, α-β and γ measurements. The β or αβ detector is mounted above the dust collection area and measures directly while collecting the sample for quick evaluation. Sample air is drawn through a glass fiber filter via a flat nozzle.
The filter tape is wound onto a slotted capstan drive where the sample air is drawn in, ensuring smooth advancement and uniform dust collection without filter damage. The dust collection and detector unit are wrapped around with a 4π lead shield. This results in lower intrinsic background and lower sensitivity to ambient radiation. (Not enough to compensate for the effect)
The large dust collection area and high flow rate of 25 m³/h result in low detection limits. As an option, we can offer delayed measurement to measure filter radiation 120 hours (5 days) after dust collection. The results virtually eliminate the effects of radon progeny, resulting in a detection limit of less than 1 mBq/m³ for artificial beta radioactivity.
