About This Product

LB110 is a special measuring device for monitoring the radioactive concentration of tritium in indoor air and exhaust gas. Tritium (3H) in air usually exists as water vapor (H1H3O) or gaseous hydrogen (H1H3). Since the range of beta particles emitted by tritium is very small (only a few millimeters in the air), the air to be measured must be mixed with the counting gas, using a windowless proportional counter. For continuous measurements, the counter is operated in flow-through mode, and the air to be measured is mixed with the counting gas and passed through the 1.3L proportional counter. Methane (air/gas mixture 1:3) or argon-methane (P10, air/gas mixture 1:4) can be used as counting gas. The accuracy of the measurement depends on a constant mixing ratio of air and counting gas, and the LB110 guarantees reliable and excellent gas-air control. The flow rates of the measuring air and counting gas are measured separately and maintained at a constant level via a control circuit. The current gas and air flow rates are measured by electronically controlled flow-through meters that operate according to the principle of thermal mass measurement. The essential advantage of this principle is that the measurement is virtually independent of pressure and temperature. Therefore, compared to the volume principle, there is no need to additionally measure pressure or temperature.
