About This Product

This system detects the presence, location, and condition of internal decay, cavities, and cracks in trees, timber, and wood structures. This is a tomography device that processes stress wave propagation times obtained non-destructively using a program to visualize internal conditions easily and quickly. Stress waves travel faster through healthy wood than through damaged wood. Sensors placed around the tree measure the time it takes stress waves to travel through the tree and reach other sensors. The collected data is sent to your computer at the same time. This converts the tree cross-sectional area data into a color image.

■ARBOTOM® is fast and easy to handle

Set up the system and measure the total cross-sectional area within 15-30 minutes. The tomographic image will be displayed immediately. When tests are performed at different heights, 3D images are created.

■Non-destructive

The sensor pin will stick into the tree only a few mm. You can change the number of sensors. The sensors are connected to the system and create 3D images of the stem with a smaller cross-section for 6 or 8 sensors and larger for up to 24-24 2D images. ARBOTOM® software fully documents everything.
