About This Product

■Summary

Ergste1.4108 is a nitrogen alloy-high corrosion resistant martensitic steel with hardness and toughness up to HRC60. Partial replacement of carbon with nitrogen provides much higher corrosion and wear resistance compared to traditional martensite. By combining PESR (pressurized electroslag remelting) and sophisticated forging techniques, we achieve extremely high purity and a fine, homogeneous microstructure. This provides excellent machinability, excellent polishability and dimensional stability after heat treatment. Ergste 1.4108 withstands highly corrosive environments and is resistant to bending and breaking, making it an ideal grade for medical devices exposed to the risk of breakage.

■Fine structure

Compared to conventional martensitic grades, Ergste 1.4108 has significantly smaller primary carbides.
