Musolator™ is a simple seismic isolation device. Because it is possible to seismically isolate only the necessary parts, such as a single device or a specific area, it clears various constraints such as installation location, cost, and construction period. Musolator™ has fulfilled the seemingly contradictory demands of users: ``It doesn't move normally, but becomes seismically isolated only in the event of a major earthquake (seismic intensity 5 or higher).''

With standard seismic isolation devices, if the shaking exceeds the range of motion, a large impact will be applied, which may cause the device to fall. Musolator™ has a drop of only 2.0 mm even when the range of motion is exceeded, so although acceleration increases slightly, the risk of falling is kept to a minimum.
