About This Product

■Seismic isolation is possible only for the necessary parts.

Musolator™ is a simple seismic isolation device. Because it is possible to seismically isolate only the necessary parts, such as a single device or a specific area, it clears various constraints such as installation location, cost, and construction period. Musolator™ has fulfilled the seemingly contradictory demands of users: ``It doesn't move normally, but becomes seismically isolated only in the event of a major earthquake (seismic intensity 5 or higher).''

■For rack area

Seismically isolate existing racks, single racks, and entire server rooms. If you are installing a new rack, you can easily install it yourself. Because the area is seismically isolated, the initial cost of the entire server room is reduced.

■For single rack

Extremely simple seismic isolation structure that just needs to be placed under the rack. Since it is possible to seismically isolate only the necessary parts, it clears various constraints on product cost, construction cost, related construction cost, and even construction period.

■For raised floors

Seismic isolation device for data centers. The entire area under the floor is a sliding plate surface, but since the device itself is very thin, the ventilation space under the floor is 100% effective. Full-scale seismic isolation can be achieved in new construction as well as existing buildings in less than half the construction time of conventional construction.

■Fail safe (design concept to ensure maximum safety)

With standard seismic isolation devices, if the shaking exceeds the range of motion, a large impact will be applied, which may cause the device to fall. Musolator™ has a drop of only 2.0 mm even when the range of motion is exceeded, so although acceleration increases slightly, the risk of falling is kept to a minimum. Fail-safe means that equipment or systems are always controlled safely even if a failure occurs due to incorrect operation or malfunction. This philosophy is based on the assumption that equipment and systems will always fail, and Musolator™ is designed to reduce the risk of falling to prevent secondary accidents. The timing and scale of natural disasters cannot always be predicted. The Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the Kumamoto Earthquake were all hit by "unexpected shaking." The basic design concept is fail-safe, which is to ensure maximum safety even in the unlikely event that an unexpected earthquake occurs.
