About This Product

Focusing combines telescopic coarse movement and linear helicoid fine movement. Coarse movement can lock threads quickly. Straight helicoid fine movement allows for precise focusing. The lock ring will not loosen after locking, and the whole system is very stable. The lens has an aperture of 50mm. The bright, wide-field optical system can capture many stars. The small and lightweight scope is perfect for guiding, searching, observing, and sporting. The SV198 features a fully multi-coated double rubber lens. The edge of the lens is painted black. The lens barrel is made of aviation aluminum alloy and machined by CNC (computer numerical control). The inside of the lens barrel is painted black to prevent diffused reflection.

■Main features

The lens barrel is made of sturdy CNC-machined metal, painted black to effectively block stray light, and equipped with a light-shielding ring inside the barrel. Furthermore, by replacing the eyepiece with the separately sold "erecting eyepiece unit", it can be converted into a convenient erecting finder. The objective lens is a set of two achromatic lenses, and is multi-coated for sharp star images. It is also ideal for radio viewing in combination with a CMOS camera for astronomical objects. Uses a combination of a telescopic draw tube and a straight helicoid. The autoguider and eyepiece can be focused directly without an extension tube. A 120mm dovetail pedestal is also included, and there is a spare UNC 1/4-2 screw hole, allowing you to freely set the spacing of the finder support frame. The sturdy 6-point adjustable support legs are "Vixen standard". By using an adjustment screw at the tip, it can be securely fixed without damaging the lens barrel. Due to its versatility, it can be used not only as a finder and guide scope, but also as an auto guide lens barrel for starry photography. A wide range of options such as support legs, erect eyepiece, and eyepiece with crosshairs are also a big attraction.
