About This Product
By cutting out the emission lines from mercury and sodium lamps, which cause light pollution, the sky becomes clearer and more stars can be seen clearly. By transmitting emission lines such as OIII and Hα, it is possible to photograph nebulas with high contrast.
When observing or photographing nebulas, star clusters, comets, etc., this filter removes unnecessary light (light pollution) such as city lights and allows light from celestial bodies to pass through.
■Effects of light pollution
The most common effect of light pollution is that the night sky becomes brighter, making it difficult to see the stars. In a natural night sky, thousands of stars and the Milky Way can be seen with the naked eye when there is no moonlight. However, in areas with severe light pollution, not only can the Milky Way not be seen at all, but the number of stars that can be seen with the naked eye is extremely limited.
■CLS filter
CLS filter stands for "City Light Suppression" and is a filter that suppresses light pollution that illuminates the night sky and makes it difficult to see the stars. Specifically, it cuts the wavelengths emitted by mercury lamps and sodium lamps, which are often used in street lights.
■Advantages
・Removes light pollution and allows light from celestial bodies to pass through when observing and photographing nebulas, star clusters, comets, etc.
・Because high-quality optical glass is used, the surface precision of the filter is extremely high, allowing observation and photography with high image quality.
- Cuts out light pollution, making the sky clearer and increasing the number of stars that can be clearly seen.
・Stars near the horizon will also be visible
■Compatible models
Canon 7D Mark II, 80D/800D, 77D/70D/760D/750D/700D 650D/600D, 550D/500D, 400D, 100D/1100D/1200D/1300D, Canon EOS 60D Glass material thickness: 1.85mm
By cutting off specific wavelengths, the light in the Hα region increases relatively, making it possible to capture red diffused nebulae.
