About This Product

Casting sand is removed using ultra-powerful ultrasonic waves. Ultrasonic casting sand removal equipment was first used to completely remove casting sand from Toyota F1 engines.

■Objects of casting sand removal

Removal of foundry sand for casting aluminum, FC, etc. This casting sand removal device is used for engine heads, blocks, oil pans, manifolds, valve bodies, hydraulic equipment, etc. of passenger cars and trucks. Sizes vary, but in the case of engines, we have standard equipment that can simultaneously process two 650mm x 300mm x 200mm in two minutes. This is because we started receiving orders for casting sand removal equipment for F1no engines. Of course, we also handle non-standard items, from small items to larger items. Ultrasonic casting sand removal involves placing the casting in water, applying vacuum treatment before and after to remove the air around the casting sand, and irradiating powerful ultrasonic waves with our unique frequency from the outside to remove the internal casting. This is our unique technology for removing sand.

■Principle of vacuum [pretreatment type] ultrasonic casting sand removal cleaning system

If the shape is complex and the air cannot escape easily even after being immersed in the liquid, it is necessary to evacuate it before immersing it in the cleaning liquid. The inside of an engine block has a complex maze-like structure, so simply submerging it will not allow all the air to escape. Blind holes in the object or air curtains and bubbles in the surface layer of sintered metal have a major influence on the shape of the cavity. In other words, it creates a gas nebula-shaped cavity. With this method, molding sand cannot be removed. Furthermore, the small bubbles reflect ultrasonic waves and absorb changes in sound pressure, thereby absorbing and alleviating the generation of cavities or their positive and negative shock waves. In other words, the cleaning effect is reduced. A dense occurrence of globular nebula-type cavities is absolutely necessary for the removal of foundry sand. Therefore, most precision cleaning operations with complex geometries inherently require this vacuum pretreatment cleaning system. Of course, as a prerequisite, cavitation control is possible, and the basic design conditions include optimizing the shape of the cleaning tank, the flow of liquid, and the depth of liquid. Furthermore, the introduced water must be stably maintained at a target dissolved air amount. In other words, a cavitation reinforcement system is also essential. By doing these things correctly, you can eliminate the influence of air and perform ultrasonic cleaning. Of course, if the shape is simple, direct powerful ultrasonic cleaning is sufficient.
