■Summary
When the bolt is tightened, the outer radial tooth surface of the HEICO-LOCK® Wedge Lock System is embedded into the underside of the bolt/nut and into the mating material. When the locking system is under dynamic stress, movement occurs only in the inner washer. This increases the clamping force. Perfect for repeated use.
Even under severe vibrations and dynamic loads, the HEICO-LOCK® wedge lock system offers maximum reliability. When the bolt is tightened, the outer radial tooth surface of the HEICO-LOCK® Wedge Lock System engages and embeds into the underside of the bolt/nut and the base metal.

HEICO-LOCK® wedge lock washers feature a preload, rather than friction, holding bolt fixation.
■Mechanism
・The inner surface of the lock washer is a wedge-shaped surface, and the outer surface is a radial teeth surface.
・The outer radial teeth surface is embedded so as to engage with the bottom surface of the bolt/nut and the base metal (when the bolt is tightened)
- Movement of the system occurs only between the inner washer surfaces. Movement in this wedge-shaped plane effectively causes the bolt to self-lock
・Increase clamping force
One of the few effective locking technologies is the HEICO-LOCK® Wedge Lock System. Its efficacy has been demonstrated by the latest experimental standards (DIN65151, DIN25201-4, NASM1312-7).
