About This Product

The BELPORE series can accurately and quickly evaluate the pores of porous materials ranging from 1mm to 3.6nm by performing mercury intrusion measurements from vacuum to 414MPa. Furthermore, it is a state-of-the-art instrument capable of evaluating specific surface area, density, and particle size distribution. In the characterization of porous materials, it is very important to obtain information such as pore diameter, pore volume, and porosity.

Mercury porosimetry is widely used to assess the pore size distribution of accessible meso- and macropores in materials. Using mercury, which does not wet porous materials, the pore volume can be determined from the amount injected, and the pore diameter relative to the applied pressure can be determined using the Washburn equation.
