Thermogravimetric analysis (TG) is a common technique to study weight loss upon heating. You can quantitatively and accurately know the percentage of weight loss. However, TG alone does not provide insight into the chemical composition of the generated gas. By using hyphenation technology that connects and measures TG and FTIR, it is possible to identify the type of gas generated from TG and evaluate more detailed characteristics of the material.

A control unit equipped with a mass flow controller, particle filter, transfer line, gas cell temperature controller, and vacuum pump is included as standard.
■Performance
By adopting a dedicated zero-gravity gas cell (ZGCell) and realizing a uniform flow path within the gas cell, we have solved the problem that often occurs with general-purpose gas cells, where the absorbance of the gas spectrum depends on the gas weight. The small volume allows efficient sample area purging and supports automatic accessory recognition.
■Flexibility
Transfer lines can be easily installed and removed, and measurements can be made using TG or IR alone.
