VBM, VBS, and VBK series contact gauges have been proven for decades in precision thickness measurements in all cold rolling situations, from foil to plate, and under a wide range of ambient conditions. . Enables measurements down to an accuracy of ±0.5um. In the production of wire rods, it can also be combined with width measurement. They are known for their exceptional reliability, with nearly 2,500 systems in operation over the past few decades, and that number growing every year.
■Flexible support from 0.005 to 19mm
Contact thickness gage systems are employed at all stages of the strip manufacturing process, including annealing lines, rolling mills, finishing lines and during strip processing, as well as inspection lines. Available in various versions with thicknesses from 0.005 to 19 mm.
■ Accurate even with wavy strips
It has a measurement accuracy down to ±0.5um per mm of strip thickness, meeting the requirements of modern rolling mills. These also follow corrugated materials. Correct angular errors by keeping the measuring head perpendicular to the strip.
■Details of principle and technology
Thickness is measured by using a very precise transducer to calculate the distance between two sensors touching the top and bottom surfaces of the strip. The advantage of this method is that, like lasers, the system can measure alloy-independently. There is no need to enter or update material parameters.
■Automatic zero adjustment
It uses a crown-shaped measuring tip made of diamond, one of the hardest materials used in industrial applications. When the gauge body is in the standby position during coil replacement, the tips touch each other and can be automatically zeroed.
