About This Product

■Characteristics

・A colorless octahedral crystal whose surface weathers and becomes translucent in the atmosphere. ・It does not dissolve in alcohol, but gradually dissolves in glycerin. ・The aqueous solution becomes acidic (1% solution pH=3.5) due to hydrolysis, has astringent properties, and coagulates proteins. ・When heated, crystallization water is gradually released, and by 300℃, it is completely dehydrated and becomes a dry product (burnt alum). When heated further, sulfur dioxide gas begins to decompose and release from around 650℃, and at around 950℃, it becomes hot. The decomposition is complete and it becomes potassium sulfate (K2SO4) and aluminum oxide (Al2O3). ・Dried product (burnt alum) gradually dissolves in water and is hygroscopic, absorbing moisture from the air and returning to AlK (SO4) 2 12H2O.

■Applications and usage examples

・Pickled eggplant: 2-4g of alum per 1kg of eggplant ・Immerse eggplant in 0.5% alum aqueous solution to prevent boiled eggplant from collapsing. ・Immersion in 0.05% alum aqueous solution ・Improve crispness Dissolve 2-3g of alum in 1 liter of water ・Fishery processing (octopus, etc.) Soaked in 0.1% alum aqueous solution ・Dyeing: Immersion in 1% alum aqueous solution ・Flower arrangement immersed in 0.01% alum aqueous solution ・For concrete removal: Dissolve 10-20g in 100 liters of water. ・Bath additives: Add 2 to 3 g of alum to a 200 liter bathtub. ・Cosmetics: 0.1% alum aqueous solution used in antiperspirants, etc. ・Hemostatic agent, gargle, 0.3% alum aqueous solution used for inflammation of mucous membranes and skin ・The contents described are general usage examples and do not guarantee safety, efficacy or efficacy.
