About This Product

FCA is an abbreviation for Fuel Combustion Analyzer. Since injection pressure and valve opening time can be measured based on FIA-100/4, it becomes possible to accurately analyze the amount of energy per amount of fuel injection. Regarding safety, all high-temperature parts are covered and automation functions have been added, so testing can be performed with very simple operations.

■Basic structure of fuel flammability tester (FIA-100.FCA.CRU)FIA-100 is a simple measuring instrument that injects a fixed amount of fuel into the combustion chamber by setting the combustion chamber to a fixed condition and controlling the fuel injection conditions using an electric heater and high-pressure air. The pressure and temperature of the combustion chamber can be set arbitrarily, allowing measurements under a variety of conditions. Unlike an actual engine, this measuring device can easily and accurately determine fuel combustion characteristics without being influenced by mechanical components such as pistons.

■Combustion curveUnder the specified temperature and pressure conditions, the pressure change in the combustion chamber is measured every 0.05ms up to 100ms for each fuel injection, and the pressure change caused by combustion during that time can be measured using the above definition.

■Heat release rate curveThe heat release rate can be calculated and displayed from the rate of pressure rise based on the combustion curve. By averaging data from 10 to 25 injections of the same fuel and creating a heat release rate curve, the combustion characteristics of that fuel can be accurately determined. It is also possible to calculate the amount of energy per injection amount of the fuel from the heat release rate curve.
