About This Product

Our goal for MELCO™ tape has been to maintain the required functionality and to make it as thin, flexible, and stretchable as possible without sacrificing the inherent elasticity of the tape base material. . This has been our unyielding goal ever since we first developed and put into practical use hot melt adhesive seam sealing tape in 1965. MELCO™ can be used to waterproof the sewn parts of a wide range of garments, and can be applied using a hot air blower. Recently, we also have the latest ultrasonic fused seam tapes available.

■The main uses of MELCO™ tape are as follows.

・Outdoor/sports jackets ・Military garment ・Dry suit/wet suit ・Waterproof shoes/boots, etc. It combines the technology of the T-5000 series (composition of primer layer and adhesive layer) with a tape base material that minimizes elongation in the width direction and provides sufficient elasticity in the length direction. Therefore, it has extremely excellent properties in that it suppresses the occurrence of expansion and contraction fatigue strain as much as possible and has strong adhesive strength.
