About This Product
Conventional floats used materials that are difficult to dispose of, such as caps and joints, but our floats now use a new material (Terramac®), which has been a long-held dream of becoming an environmentally friendly material. I was able to use it. (TERRAMAC is a registered trademark of Unitika Co., Ltd.)
■Degradation test Terramac® biodegradation
The polylactic acid used in Terramac® hardly decomposes under normal room temperature conditions and can be used for a long time. Same as regular plastic. After use, hydrolysis is promoted by placing it in an environment with appropriate moisture and temperature, such as in compost or soil, followed by decomposition (biodegradation) by microorganisms, and eventually complete decomposition into CO2 and water. I will.
■Socket type fittings that are easy to assemble on site
Based on a technical proposal from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Hokuriku Technical Office, we have improved the conventional screw-in method and created a system that improves the speed and safety of flow rate observation. The joint structure has a tapered male part that is slightly larger than the female part, so if you push it in with a little force and turn it about half a turn, it will fit completely. Due to its shape, I was worried that it would easily come off during actual observation, but since the male part is slightly large, it will not come off even if I pull it with a force of 20 kg. As a result of our study, we adopted a ``socket type'' fitting that is easy to install and provides a perfect seal.
■Stepped floats convenient for transportation
Previously, only products over 3m were made using two joints, but many carriers are unable to transport long items (over 2m), and even if they are able to do so, the shipping costs are relatively high considering the weight etc. There may be cases. Therefore, for items longer than 2m, we have developed step floats in units of 1m (total length is approximately 1.2m due to stifling standards). The joints used in the conventional 3m/4m are used, so there is no problem with strength.
