About This Product

■Nicolite

Nicolite is a lightweight, non-toxic heat insulating material that plays a revolutionary role in preventing the temperature drop of hot metal, molten steel and non-ferrous metals over long periods of time. It solves many problems such as the complexity of administering burnt fir, straw ash, etc. several times, contamination with foreign substances, difficulty in collecting cargo, smoke, dust generation, transportation and storage, etc. We have a proven track record of keeping heat in continuous casting tundishes and ladles that require heat retention.

■Features

・It is slow-flammable, so it retains heat for a long time, making it ideal for keeping molten metal warm in ladles and tundishes for continuous casting that need to be kept warm for a long time. - It has been processed into granules and the particle size has been adjusted, so there is no agglomeration, so when added, it is uniformly dispersed and coated on the molten metal surface, increasing the heat retention effect and preventing oxidation of the molten metal surface. ・As it generates very little smoke and dust, it helps prevent pollution and improve the working environment.

Nicolite and roasted fir are heated on one side, and the temperature inside the furnace is maintained at a constant temperature (1350℃ in this test) for a certain period of time, the power consumption required for this is measured, and the heat retention is compared based on the amount of power consumed. The lower the power consumption, the better the heat retention.

■Heat retention properties

- Immediately after pouring the molten metal into the ladle, pour the main material onto the surface of the molten metal. The amount added is approximately 0.5-kg per ton of molten metal. ・Used as a heat insulator for the riser in the mold during killed ore production. The standard usage amount is 0.2 to 0.5 kg/ton. There are two methods of charging: one is to divide the amount into the early and middle stages of casting, and the other is to add the entire amount at the beginning of casting.
