The LP□□01 series measures light and radiation as illuminance (lux) or irradiance (W/m2) in the VIS-NIR, UVA, UVB, and UVC spectral regions. It is also possible to measure the number of photons per unit time and unit area in the photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) wavelength range of 400 to 700 nm. The LP□□01 series does not require external power supply.

An output signal in mV is obtained via a shunt resistor at the photodiode terminal. The photocurrent generated when the photodiode receives light is converted into a potential difference and read with a voltmeter. Once the PD (potential difference) is read, the measured value is calculated using a calibration factor (output factor).

Each probe is factory calibrated before shipping and has its own calibration factor (output factor). This factor is listed on each individual probe and in the accompanying instruction manual. The LP□□01 series probes feature a cosine law correcting diffuser. For UV measurement probes, the diffuser is made of polished quartz, while for other probes, the diffuser is made of acrylic or Teflon (LPPHOT01).

The LP□□01 series probes are designed for indoor measurements where constant monitoring of the above light and radiation levels is required. LPPHOT01S outputs the illuminance measurement value via Modbus-RTU (power supply required).
