This product is a voice monitoring thermohygrometer developed to support the daily lives of the elderly and visually impaired. No special operations are required if the watch function is set to on. If the risk of heat stroke or seasonal influenza increases indoors, it will automatically issue an audio alert and prompt you to use the air conditioner. This product supports the creation of a safe and comfortable indoor environment.
■Product development background
Every year, there is a concern about heatstroke among elderly people indoors during the summer. Elderly people have a reduced ability to regulate their body temperature, so if the temperature and humidity are high indoors, the risk of heatstroke increases. Since 2000, the majority of heatstroke deaths in Japan have been among the elderly, with 52% of men and 85% of women over the age of 65.
Mortality rates tend to be high in years with extremely hot summers and low in years with cool summers. This is because older people are less sensitive to heat and therefore find it difficult to take appropriate measures. Controlling the temperature and humidity of the indoor environment is important for preventing heat stroke in the elderly.
■Functions and features
This thermohygrometer will notify you of the indoor temperature and humidity environment with up to 8 patterns of audio. In addition, by setting the watch function, you will automatically receive a voice alert when the temperature or humidity exceeds a certain threshold and the risk of heat stroke or seasonal influenza increases. The large LCD screen makes it easy to use as a regular thermohygrometer, and it also tells you the status of the environment with icons and text.
In addition, a flashing LED provides a visual warning of the situation, helping users to respond quickly.
■How to use and usage scenarios
During normal use, it can be operated with one button. When you press the button on the bottom right of the product, a voice announces the surrounding conditions, temperature, and humidity of the installation environment. For example, in an indoor environment where the temperature is 41.0 degrees Celsius and the humidity is 80%, the system will issue an instruction to "cool down immediately" and then announce the temperature and humidity.
In addition, when the temperature is low, announcements are made to encourage humidification and heating, so it is effective in various environments throughout the year. Installation methods include stands, magnets, and wall mounts (hooks sold separately).
