■Summary
Ertacetal® / Acetron® is a family of acetals that have lower abrasion resistance but better dimensional stability than polyamides. Mitsubishi Chemical Group Corporation offers both homopolymer and copolymer grades of POM. Special formulations include reinforced bearing grade materials, metallic and X-ray detectable acetals, food contact compatible acetals, and a wide range of colors.
In general, acetal does not perform as well as nylon in abrasive wear applications. However, Ertacetal®/Acetron® has a wide range of superior performance attributes, including high mechanical strength, stiffness, hardness, good creep resistance, high impact strength at low temperatures, low moisture absorption, and excellent dimensional stability. and food contact compatibility.
