About This Product

The pellets required for XRF analysis must be well-formed and of high quality. Retsch's Pellet Press PP40 has strong pressing force and can form pellets firmly and with a smooth surface. The feature of PP40 is that the pressure can be controlled between 0 and 40t. Although the PP40 has a compact size that does not take up much space, it can automatically set high pressure in up to 3 steps, making it possible to produce high-quality pellets even for samples that are difficult to mold.

■Function

Attach a steel ring or aluminum cup to the PP40 press stand and use a funnel to fill the sample into the ring. The ring is pressed from below against the pressure plate and pressurization begins. As pressure is applied, the air inside the sample is pushed out, increasing its density and stabilizing the shape of the pellet. Once the maximum load is reached, maintain the pressure and wait for the sample particles to come into close contact with each other. Pressure is applied in up to three steps, creating pellets with a stable shape.
