About This Product

■Product overview

CoolSpeed ​​is a high-speed rotating tool holder with a built-in air turbine that uses coolant oil or air from the machine tool spindle to achieve high-speed rotation of up to 75,000 rpm.

■Mechanism

Cool Speed ​​is mounted on a hydraulic or collet type tool holder, and when through coolant oil or air is supplied from the spindle, the internal turbine is driven and the cutting tool attached to the tip is rotated.

■Continuous high precision drive

・Cutting tool shank functions as spindle shaft ・Dynamic runout less than 4 microns ・Bearings can be easily replaced when changing cutting tools

■Through coolant oil, driven via air

Cool Speed's rotation speed does not depend on the machine rotation speed at all, so it can be used as long as there is coolant oil or air. The desired rotation speed can be adjusted by changing the supply pressure. Examples of pressure and rotation speed are as follows. ・40,000RPM with 10bar coolant/oil ・60bar coolant/oil at 75,000RPM ・50,000RPM with 4.5bar through air

・Can be mounted on machining centers, turning centers, and Swiss-type lathes ・Extends machine spindle life ・Compatible with standard tool holders for automatic tool change In the conventional method of rotating a machine tool spindle, the cutting tool at the tip rotates only after the spindle shaft, bearing, collet, etc. all rotate. Bearings and collets wear out with use, so regular spindle maintenance results in costs and machine downtime. With cool speed, there is no need to rotate the machine tool spindle, which extends machine life and allows any machine to be converted into a high-speed machining center.
