About This Product

■This is an underwater wire electrical discharge machine that can handle thick machining of medium and large parts. It achieves machining accuracy comparable to that of small machines.The underwater wire electrical discharge machine U86 has a large machining tank with maximum workpiece dimensions of 1220 x 910 x 500mm and can handle workpieces up to 3000kg. Moving heavy objects and processing fluids has a negative impact on machine accuracy, so a fixed work table is used to achieve stable accuracy. The machining fluid tank is a space-saving design that is integrated with the casting of the machine body. This reduces the footprint and improves thermal stability.

Makino's unique 3-sided elevating processing tank has been adopted, allowing even large machines to be as accessible as small machines. Operators can access the work area from three directions. Additionally, the processing tank is lowered below the top of the table, allowing the operator to reach the bottom of the workpiece. Even if the core is accidentally dropped, it can be easily retrieved.

■Features/SpecificationsIn wire electrical discharge machining, the head cannot approach the workpiece in order to avoid unevenness on the top surface of the workpiece or interference with jigs, etc., and in most cases the nozzle at the tip cannot come into close contact with the workpiece. Since this machine is equipped with H.E.A.T. as standard, it is possible to perform high-speed and highly accurate machining even when the nozzle is released. This is made possible by supplying high pressure and a large amount of jet flow from a large-capacity independent double jet pump.

Adopts an open/close type V wire guide system. To clean the wire guide, simply open it and wipe it with a cotton swab. Do not remove the wire guide for cleaning. Also, there is no need to take out the wire vertically after cleaning. It has built-in processing conditions that can be set to suit various workpieces and wire materials, and automatically creates optimal conditions. And we always select processing conditions that result in low wire consumption. You can obtain the best machining results regardless of your experience.

The machine control system is equipped with Hyper-i, which allows intuitive operation. Operation is an efficient interface consisting of three categories: program/setup/operation. Extremely simple operation helps reduce setting errors and speeds up work. The high-resolution 24-inch touchscreen feels like a tablet and provides operators with all the information they need to stay productive, including user manuals, help features, and training tutorials. Improve operator competency while reducing training time.
