About This Product

Among the components of a gas turbine engine, heat-resistant alloys are used for the turbine blades (movable blades) and vanes (fixed blades) located behind the combustion chamber. Its wing surface has many small diameter holes for cooling. EDBV8 can create this hole in an extremely short time with a single setup. High-speed machining was achieved by aggressively using machining conditions with a high electrode wear rate (100%). Generative machining using a rotating pipe electrode takes advantage of the characteristic that wear is uniform over the entire circumference of the pipe electrode diameter. Furthermore, by using standard commercially available pipe electrodes that are inexpensive and easy to procure, efficient machining can be achieved with machining paths tailored to various shapes.

■Features/Specifications

Efficient creative machining can be performed by using standard pipe electrodes and programming a machining path that matches the shape of the diffuser. By discharging a high-pressure jet of up to 7MPa from the hole in the pipe electrode, it accelerates chip ejection and achieves high-speed machining. Equipped as standard with a function to detect whether the electrode has penetrated the workpiece. This prevents the electrode from going too deep and accidentally machining other parts (backstrike). Underwater machining makes it easier to stabilize the electrical discharge state even when the material exits when penetrating a hole, improving the accuracy of penetration detection. A 2-axis tilting index table is used. Maximum workpiece mass is 50kg. A guide arm (W axis) that positions the tip of the electrode guide according to the height of the workpiece, a rotational shake prevention finger that suppresses the expansion of rotational shake that occurs at the midpoint of the electrode when using a long pipe electrode, etc. Equipped with unique technology. The number of pipe electrodes that can be stored is 24, and the maximum tool length is 470mm.
