About This Product

■Mechanism of light emissionWhen an electric current is applied to certain organic compounds (light-emitting materials), the molecules of certain organic compounds (light-emitting materials) enter a high-energy excited state due to the electrical energy. Organic EL (electroluminescence) utilizes the phenomenon of emitting light due to the energy difference when this returns to its original state.

Organic compounds are in powder form and do not emit light as they are. Light emission is made possible by stacking layers that have functions such as controlling the flow of electrons, sandwiching a "light-emitting layer" made of a thin plate of light-emitting material. A material designed to emit light in this way is called an "element."

■High contrast, high color gamut reproducibility, and high-speed responseSince the elements themselves emit light, it is possible to express deep black and various colors found in nature. Additionally, the response time of the element is short, allowing for smooth video display.

■Blue light reductionThe blue emission wavelength can be freely adjusted using organic materials, making it possible to reduce harmful blue light.
