About This Product

The broach head is a tool that can efficiently process regular polygonal (square, hexagonal, TORX®, spline, etc.) blind holes and through holes with high efficiency. By attaching an adapter to the broach head, it is also possible to process polygonal shapes. The broach head can be used on general-purpose machines (lathes, drills, milling machines) as well as NC lathes and machining centers. It doesn't matter whether the tool is installed vertically or horizontally. The broach mounting surface is slightly inclined to the center axis of the tool body. As a result, when the lathe spindle or tool spindle is rotated, both rotational and oscillating motion is transmitted to the broach. The combined action derived from the rotation and feed functions provided by the equipment reduces the machining load, allowing the broach to cut through the pilot hole smoothly and process a polygonal hole. ■Body

The body is made of heat-treated steel. A bearing is placed inside to absorb machining resistance.

■Broach head spindle

-The broach head spindle that holds the broach is assembled into a bearing inside the body. ・There is a fixing screw for attaching a broach and a tapped hole for attaching a draw rod.

■Brooch sheet

- A housing part for attaching the broach is machined inside the broach head spindle. - This housing part is machined to precise dimensions and polished to allow for precise setting of the broach.

■Equipment attachment part (shank)

・The broach head tool is a shank part for attaching to a machine tool. - Several shank formats are available to choose from so that it can be installed in a variety of equipment. ・Cylindrical shank ・Morse taper shank ・ISO-DIN 69871 / DIN 2080 shank ・VDI shank ・CAPTO ISO-26623 shank

■Draw rod

- A small steel bar attached to brooch heads of G12 and above sizes. - Attach to the tapped hole of the spindle of the broach head. ・It has the effect of suppressing the twisting of broaching characters, and it is possible to fix the rotation angle of the polygonal hole relative to the workpiece. - If the machine used is a lathe, it is necessary to modify the spindle and add a jig called a "fork" to receive the draw rod.
