About This Product
■You can see differences that cannot be seen with the naked eye
The three primary colors of light are red, green, and blue. When sunlight is split through a prism, it produces the seven colors of the rainbow. However, it is possible to differentiate by more detailed color (wavelength).
Furthermore, ultraviolet and infrared rays, which are invisible to the naked eye, can be separated by wavelength. That is spectroscopy. Spectroscopy can sometimes tell the difference between things that look the same to the human eye. A device that can take images just like a camera, and can even perform spectroscopy.
That is a hyperspectral imaging system. Sorting and inspection using image processing is becoming more and more widely used, but this hyperspectral imaging system allows inspections to be taken to the next level. Inspections that were previously difficult can now be performed easily and accurately in a non-destructive and non-contact manner. For example, using wavelengths in the near-infrared region, it is possible to control the quality of food by absorbing water, and to sort plastics based on their different materials.
The fields of use are wide-ranging. Cultivation of agricultural crops, quality control of food, prevention of foreign matter contamination, inspection of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, separation and recycling of garbage and plastics, exploration of mineral deposits. It is widely used not only for research and development purposes, but also in various industrial settings.
A hyperspectral imaging system primarily consists of a spectral camera, scanning mechanism, and software. A light source may also be used to illuminate the sample. We offer a lineup of four types of spectral cameras depending on the wavelength band to be measured. The spectral data acquired by a spectral camera is one line of data, like a line scan camera.
In order to create data (images) for a two-dimensional area, it is necessary to scan the object. By processing the line data obtained by scanning with software, it becomes two-dimensional spectral data (hyperspectral data). In order to utilize this hyperspectral data, sophisticated analysis is often required, making software extremely important. The included software is equipped with various display and analysis functions, allowing you to extract the necessary information from large amounts of data.
