About This Product

Passive probes are standard probes that come with most oscilloscopes. A typical passive probe has a 10:1 attenuation ratio and a high input resistance of 10 MΩ. This high input resistance minimizes circuit loading at low frequencies, making passive probes ideal tools for measuring low-frequency signals. Passive probes are designed to measure voltages of at least 400 V and some as high as 600 V. Teledyne LeCroy's passive probes feature an automatic attenuation ratio recognition pin that tells the oscilloscope to automatically scale the waveform without requiring manual input from the user. Each passive probe is recommended for use with a corresponding oscilloscope. Using a good passive probe with a good oscilloscope will give you a well-compensated characteristic across the entire bandwidth, but using a probe for another oscilloscope will compensate for low frequencies but will give you a very large overpass. A waveform with shoots may be obtained.
