About This Product

■Exhaust principle of liquid ring vacuum pump

A liquid ring vacuum pump consists of a casing and an impeller inside it. When a sealing liquid is placed inside the casing and the impeller is rotated, the sealing liquid is pressed against the inner wall of the casing by centrifugal force, forming a ring of water. There are many spaces separated by blades between the impeller and the sealing liquid. Since the impeller is mounted eccentrically from the casing, the volume of each space changes as the impeller rotates. Utilizing this volume change, intake, compression, and exhaust are performed continuously.

Osaka Vacuum's liquid ring vacuum pumps can be used with a variety of sealing liquids, including water. By selecting the most suitable sealing liquid according to the application, it is also possible to exhaust gases (condensable gases) containing water vapor and organic solvents. Additionally, by circulating the sealing fluid in a closed cycle system, waste fluid generation can be minimized. In addition, liquid ring vacuum pumps can be combined with other pumps to support a variety of processes. For example, by combining it with a Roots pump, large pumping and high vacuum can be achieved with less energy (PRL series). In addition, by combining it with an atmosta (air ejector), it is possible to increase the ultimate pressure and prevent cavitation. (1st stage Atmosta: WA series, 2nd stage Atmostas WB series)
