About This Product
The HQA-15M-10T is a charge amplifier specifically developed for pure AC power supplies that do not have or generate DC components on average over time. Therefore, there is no need to reset the integrator. Most suitable for tuning fork crystals used in atomic force microscopy (AFM). Pyro and piezo detectors and longitudinal oscillators are also suitable as signal sources.
■Excellent S/N ratio
HQA-15M-10T is designed for amplification of charge signals generated by small tuning forks. It is also ideal for receiving signals from piezo elements used to detect ultrasonic vibrations. With HQA-15M-10T, it is possible to reduce noise by an order of magnitude compared to conventional current-to-voltage converters.
■Special operation mode of charge amplifier
A charge amplifier is a current integrator. An output voltage is produced that is proportional to the charge accumulated at the amplifier input over a given period of time. Charge amplifiers often require a reset mechanism to avoid overloading the integrating stage.
The HQA-15M-10T is developed for AC signal sources that do not have or generate time-averaged DC components. The charges in such a signal source alternate symmetrically between positive and negative charges. As a result, the integrated charge is zero, so the HQA-15M-10T does not require a reset.
■Difference between current amplifier and charge amplifier
The output signal of a current amplifier (synonymous with transimpedance amplifier) is directly proportional to the input current. Current is the differential value of charge with respect to time. Therefore, the output signal of a current amplifier corresponds to the derivative of the output signal of an equivalent charge amplifier.
