The latest Goodrich flexometer "Gabometer" combines a flexometer and dynamic viscoelasticity into one unit, and by measuring the heat generation temperature from the side, it can accurately determine the amount of heat generated without being interfered with by the behavior of the measuring device. ■Main features

When resin and rubber products, which are excellent heat insulators, are repeatedly deformed, high heat is generated inside the product due to friction, which remains inside the product. It has a major impact on physical properties and can cause fatal defects in product performance and lifespan. However, it was extremely difficult to measure the internal heat generation accurately. Therefore, Gabo developed the highest load flexometer testing machine "Gabometer" based on the experience gained from the unique double drive structure dynamic viscoelasticity measurement.

■Highest level 4000N high load

The larger the sample shape, the better the internal heat generation can be reproduced, but high load performance is required. We have developed a high load 4000N flexometer by taking advantage of the popular Iplexer series' control technology. In addition to flexometer measurements, blowout tests and dynamic viscoelasticity measurements (optional) using 4000N are also possible.

■Flexometer measurement

The effects of internal heat generation cannot be avoided in products that are repeatedly subjected to large deformations, so product design that takes into account the material properties is required. For example, in the case of tires, internal heat generation can lead to blowouts, which has various effects on safety, rolling resistance, and product life. In addition to flexometer measurements according to ASTMD623, ISO4666, and DIN53533, it also supports larger sample sizes with a dynamic 4000N capacity that reproduces internal heat generation well.

■ Accurately capture internal heat generation

It was difficult to accurately determine the heat generation temperature inside the sample due to friction during sample deformation. The gabometer uses a unique temperature sensor to simultaneously measure the internal heat generation and surface temperature of the sample (flexometer measurement) without being affected by friction.
