About This Product
A Peltier module (thermo module) is a heat control module that has both "warming" and "cooling" effects. By applying current, it is possible to change the surface temperature and keep it at the desired temperature (temperature adjustment). In general, it is sometimes written as a thermo module or a Peltier element, but Kyocera calls it a Peltier module.
■Basic structure
Kyocera's Peltier module uses a structure in which two types of semiconductor elements arranged in series are sandwiched between copper substrates. This device utilizes the ``Peltier effect,'' in which when electricity is applied, electrons move in one element and holes move in the other element, thereby transferring heat.
This allows one side of the board to absorb heat and the other side to radiate heat, making it possible to switch between hot and cold sides depending on the direction of the current. It can also be used as a thermoelectric power generation module that applies the Seebeck effect, which allows current to flow by creating a temperature difference on both sides of the Peltier module.
■Basic structure
Kyocera's new structure Peltier module features an element with a unique cylindrical shape and a copper substrate. By creating a cylindrical shape, we succeeded in alleviating stress concentration and improving long-term durability. Additionally, by coating the outer surface of the element, resistance to corrosion caused by condensed water is improved. Passed automotive level reliability.
In addition, the features of copper substrates are ``low heat capacity'' and ``heat uniformity.'' This contributes to the quick response and low temperature variation as a Peltier module.
