About This Product
NDIR (Non Dispersive InfraRed) type gas sensors are often used to detect CO₂. The NDIR type is a set of a "light-emitting element" that emits infrared rays and a "light-receiving element" that receives infrared rays, and detects gas by utilizing the phenomenon of absorption of infrared rays of a specific wavelength. Kyocera offers ceramic packages for NDIR gas sensors that emit less gas and can be made smaller and lower in profile.
Features
■Does not generate gas easily
It can be seen that ceramic packages emit less gas than organic packages.
■Ideal for compact size and low profile
You can replace the pin insertion mounting of metal CAN packages with surface mount types that can be reflow-compatible. In addition, it has been made smaller and thinner by using three-dimensional wiring. Furthermore, we can also propose designs that match the chip size you are using.
■Can be hermetically sealed
Ceramic packages can be hermetically sealed, which is difficult to do with organic packages, and can also be vacuum sealed.
■Thermal expansion coefficient close to Si (silicon)
If there is a difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion between different materials, there is a problem that thermal stress will occur during mounting and the mounting part will break. Ceramics has a coefficient of thermal expansion close to that of the element material Si (silicon), which reduces the risk of the mounting part breaking and ensures mounting reliability.
