About This Product
Atmospheric pressure sensors are installed in smartphones, wearable devices, etc., and there is a need for improved sensing accuracy and waterproofness. Ceramic packages are used in barometric pressure sensors because their low coefficient of thermal expansion and high rigidity help improve sensing accuracy. We also propose a dust and water resistant concept using a ceramic lid with micro holes.
Features
■Thermal expansion coefficient close to Si
The following is a simulation result that compares the amount of deformation at the edge of the element by applying heat to an organic substrate and a ceramic substrate. Elements mounted on ceramic substrates have little deformation even under high temperatures, so the effect on sensing accuracy can be reduced.
■High rigidity material
Ceramics have high rigidity, so even when strong pressure is applied, distortion is small and accuracy can be improved.
■Proposal of dustproof/waterproof concept
Ceramics can be machined with fine holes (Φ100 µm or less), so it can be expected to be dust and water resistant for air pressure sensors.
