■Universal design philosophy

In Hitachi's universal design, it is important to plan and design from the beginning things that all people can use naturally and naturally, and places where they can take action. During product development, we conducted evaluation experiments with the cooperation of many people, including the visually impaired and the elderly. The experimental results are reflected everywhere, including the cover plate with a dotted pattern and the COM signal that blinks to let you know where to get on and off.

■Energy saving/management function

We offer a variety of specifications that contribute to highly efficient transportation with energy savings in mind, as well as labor savings in operation and maintenance.

■New pattern cover plate

A cover plate* with a new pattern that improves the coefficient of static friction when wet by approximately 20% (compared to our company's comparison). Additionally, the difference in brightness between the paint colors of the cover plate (fixed part) and the pallet (movable part) helps in getting on and off the vehicle. *Determined through evaluation experiments with many people, including the visually impaired and the elderly.

■Approach lane for getting on and off

To make the line of flow clearer when getting on and off, we have created an approach lane on the cover plate that leads to the pallet. A pattern that matches the width of the pallet supports getting on and off the pallet.

■Stepped treads on both ends to guard at both ends of the pallet

To prevent shoes from touching the skirt guard, we have installed 8mm higher treads on both ends of the pallet tread.

■Knurling process to increase slip resistance

The treads of the pallets are knurled (thin grooves) to prevent slipping even when the soles are wet from rain. [Specifications compliant with new barrier-free law]

■Escort line that allows you to grab and release naturally

The ``Escort Line'' is a terminal line that was created after repeated ergonomics studies, so that when getting on and off a vehicle, you can grip the handrail with a more natural motion.
