About This Product

The MPPT load device series is a device that connects to solar cells and operates at the maximum operating point (Pmax).

To evaluate the power generation performance of a solar cell, it is necessary to put the solar cell into an actual power generation state. Since no current will flow unless a load is connected, power generation performance cannot be measured. By connecting a solar cell, this device consumes the output power by converting it into heat internally. It is possible to measure the amount of power generated by solar cells by simply building the minimum measurement environment (voltage, current, and power are measured every second within this device).

A unique MPPT tracking method is used to track the maximum power point. In addition to the conventional successive power comparison (hill-climbing method), the I-V curve output characteristics of the solar cell is swept once per minute to find the maximum operating point. MPPT control is performed by searching for . Therefore, even if the maximum operating point (Pmax) changes significantly due to sudden changes in the weather or shadows, tracking will continue at the maximum operating point.

Even if a shadow forms on the module, it follows with sweep MPPT, so it continues to operate at its maximum operating point.

In combination with our PV analyzer "Gamma" series (I-V curve tracer) + PV scanner (switcher), it is possible to construct an I-V measurement system under a simulated load condition during an outdoor exposure test.

This device has a track record of being used in a variety of development and verification applications, including domestic power generation verification tests for new types of solar cells (perovskite type, etc.), vehicle-mounted solar cells, and OEM products.
