■What is MAS Mextern?

Equipment for hard turning of hardened steel and cutting of difficult-to-cut materials requires the following elements: ・High cutting (tool) rigidity ・Precise adjustment of center height ・Reproducibility of cutting tool installation Mexturn solves the above problems by adding unique functions, contributing to high efficiency machining, high precision machining, and long tool life machining. Features of Mextern

■Feature 1 Hydro chuck (hydraulic mechanism)

In order to handle hard work materials such as hardened steel, the cutting tool must be firmly fixed. Mextern has developed a hydro chuck system suitable for lathes. By firmly clamping the blade using hydraulic pressure, it achieves high rigidity and a high vibration suppression effect. In addition to achieving better machined surface quality than before, this also makes it possible to use CBN tools with higher hardness and higher performance. The hydraulic mechanism also contributes to improving repeatability when installing cutting tools.

■Feature 2 Core height adjustment function

Equipped with an eccentric mechanism to quickly and easily adjust the positional accuracy of the cutting edge, which has a major impact when machining difficult-to-cut materials. This allows the position of the cutting edge to be adjusted with an accuracy of 0.01 mm or less.
