About This Product

■What is Masa Tool Microconic System?

The Microconic system is a collet chuck system for the back spindle (sub-spindle) of automatic lathes. This system uses a precision collet for small diameters that allows you to numerically adjust the clamping force more easily than usual, and a jump chuck (overgrip collet) that can clamp by jumping over steps with a maximum diameter of 4 mm. The cartridge used for this system has a shape that is compatible with regular collets, so it can be easily installed in equipment without requiring any equipment modification. Features of Microconic System

■Unprecedented machining layouts can be realized with the jump chuck

Capable of clamping small diameters by jumping over steps with a maximum diameter of 4mm. Even for shapes that could not be efficiently machined on the spindle side, production efficiency and accuracy can be improved with a well-balanced layout that allocates them to the back spindle.

■Eliminating intuition from clamping force adjustment, allowing numerical adjustment from heavy cutting to delicate clamping.

Adopts a unique wrench system that allows you to numerically adjust the clamping force of the chuck while looking at the scale. Variations due to worker skill level can be eliminated and work can be standardized. Adjustments can be made from the front of the collet without opening the sub-spindle cover, improving setup efficiency.

■Unique mechanism provides strong clamping force despite the nose collet (head)

A unique system that pressurizes the collet directly below the clamp section provides stable and strong clamping force even on noselets that are prone to weakening and flattening.

■Workpiece processing using the microconic system

The Microconic system has been adopted as standard tooling in Europe and North America for machining medical drills, etc. It is also installed in many Japanese automatic lathes such as Citizen, Star, Tsugami, and Nomura DS.
