About This Product

■What is Gripex?

Gripex is used to pull materials out of chucks using coolant pressure and to transport finished workpieces. It features a unique patented mechanism that provides strong gripping force with low coolant pressure.

■Functional principle

- Gripex is powered by the lathe's coolant system. Clamp the workpiece with coolant ON, and loosen the claws with coolant OFF. Maximum permissible coolant pressure → Gripex Large, 20 bar; Gripex Small, 15 bar; Gripex Mini 7 bar. ・Attach directly to the tool holder supplied with coolant or VDI turret. - The valve (screw in the housing for release) can be quickly opened with a claw when the coolant system is activated. A check valve is provided to retard the pressure drop in the pawl. - Proper guide pipe in the spindle not only prevents vibration during rotation, but also prevents the bar from tilting too much when withdrawing.

■Advantages of Gripex

・Easy setup – No need to adjust according to the workpiece diameter as long as it is within the compatible range. ・Compact and lightweight – The small size prevents interference, so there is no need to change the position of adjacent turret tools. - Powerful – withstands 20bar pressure. No additional pressure reducing valve is required. - Gripex does not require high pressure. - Operates from 0.5 bar. ・It is very close to the chuck and can be clamped in a short position. - Clamps hexagonal bars without requiring spindle orientation. - Can be used in the same way as a pickup unit with robot jaws.

■Valve outlet if the lathe is equipped with a check valve

The Gripex body is equipped with an adjustable valve. Can also be used on machines with check valves. If you want to shorten the time the claws open, loosen the screws.
