About This Product

■What is Brighetti brooch tool?

The Brigetti broach tool is a tool for obtaining the shape of a hexagonal or square hole by pushing a hexagonal/square blade (broach) into a workpiece that has been drilled with a prepared hole and pushing the chips away. It is used to rotate the workpiece during lathe processing, and to rotate the tool when used on a machining center.

■Explanation of processing principles

By pushing from the Z direction into a workpiece with a pilot hole, the chips are pushed deep into the workpiece while being machined. The tool is equipped with a bearing, and when it comes into contact with a rotating workpiece, the cutting edge also rotates. Since the cutting edge is eccentric from the center of the tool, it applies force to one of the hexagons even though it touches the surface, concentrating a small amount of force on one point and generating cutting force. By sequentially changing the points where force is applied while rotating, it is possible to perform push cutting even with the thrust of a lathe, which is not as large as that of a press. Although it is generally used in CNC lathes, it can also be used in general-purpose lathes, drilling machines that rotate tools, and machining centers.
