About This Product

Tools that can be used on lathes and machining centers to process various shapes such as keyways, square holes, hexagonal holes, and splines. The slotting tool is available with an eccentric bushing so that it can be used on machines without a Y-axis adjustment mechanism. This bush has a hardened and polished finish. In slotting, it is very important that the axes of the workpiece and tool are perfectly aligned. However, it is difficult to suppress axis misalignment to zero due to misalignment when installing tools and workpieces. Eccentric bushings were developed to solve this problem. The eccentric mechanism allows Y-axis adjustment of ±0.5mm. It has a scale in 0.03mm increments, and can be adjusted to the correct position based on the first machining result. Of course, this bushing is not necessary if the Y-axis can be adjusted on the machine side.

■Basic installation method on CNC lathe

・1.Attach the insert to the holder with Torx screws. ・2. Insert the holder into the eccentric bushing and align the "zero" mark carved on the end face of the eccentric bushing with the white notch carved into the holder. Then tighten the holder fixing screw. ・3.Attach the holder with the eccentric bush assembled to the boring bar holder of the lathe. First, lightly tighten the "centering groove" carved into the D-cut part of the shank with a spherical set screw. Then tighten the flat set screw.
