About This Product

Currently, the problem of water leakage from the ceilings of station buildings such as underpasses and underground stations is becoming increasingly serious. The board material absorbs moisture and becomes brittle, causing the board to fall. In particular, there is a concern about the problem of rainwater flowing from the elevated bridges at the elevated stations. It is difficult to completely prevent water leakage, so one possible countermeasure is to install double ceilings to prevent rainwater. However, due to the dimensions of the existing viaduct, the double ceiling design limits the ceiling height, which is one reason to limit the comfort of passengers passing by. Therefore, in collaboration with JR East, we have developed a product called ``Flowing Water System Ceiling'' that solves this problem by integrating these ceilings with different functions. It incorporates the good looks of conventional metal ceilings and has an excellent design, making it ideal for stations under elevated tracks where water often leaks.

■POINT

The biggest difficulty in dealing with water leaks in the ceiling is the lighting, air conditioning, inspection openings, etc. attached to the ceiling, and the key point is how to deal with them. Openings of various sizes such as round and square are made on the ceiling surface, and Morrison jointly developed a running water cutout and a special gasket that can accommodate these openings.

■Development purpose

There are problems with double ceilings, such as material costs, construction time, and the need for extra funds. While there are water diversion system ceilings that can handle small amounts of water leakage, flow system ceilings are intended to be able to handle larger amounts of water.
