About This Product

■Summary

Fluorescent paint for quicksand investigation is a paint specially developed for investigation of sand movement in order to investigate topographical changes on the ocean floor and investigation of sand movement in rivers. It has strong adhesion to sand, has excellent abrasion resistance, and emits a fluorescent color when irradiated with near ultraviolet light (main wavelength 365 nm), making it possible to accurately extract moving sand and facilitate investigation.

■How to use

The investigation method consists of making fluorescent sand, placing it at a fixed point, collecting the sand, and picking up the fluorescent sand using an ultraviolet lamp.The method of using quicksand investigation paint is as follows.

■1.Containing amount

It is effective to add enough fluorescent paint so that the entire sand is uniformly wetted and coated. The required amount varies depending on the particle size of the sand, but approximately 7 to 10% is appropriate.

■2. Attachment method

Mixing and adhesion methods are selected appropriately depending on the amount of sand. For large quantities, it is more efficient to use a structure that rotates the entire sand, such as a concrete mixer, to increase sales.

■3.Drying

When drying, spread the sand quickly and thinly until the entire sand is coated. Drying time is approximately 30 to 60 minutes at room temperature (20℃). Sand that is stuck to each other can be easily loosened by rubbing it after it is completely dry.
