About This Product
High-purity acetylene is purified acetylene gas filled in a container, and is attracting attention as a carbon raw material for semiconductors, a raw material for hard carbon films, and recently as a raw material gas for new materials such as carbon nanotubes. Purities are available in 99.5%, 99.9%, 99.999%, and 99.9999%.
Excellent properties of acetylene
■High flame temperature
・It has a flame temperature of 3,330℃, the highest among all cutting gases. (Propane is 2,600℃)
・The high flame temperature can speed up work.
■Low oxygen consumption
・The consumption of oxygen is the lowest among all the cutting gases. (1/4 of propane)
・Since oxygen consumption is low, the number of oxygen containers used can be reduced.

・Pressure welding of reinforcing bars
・Welding/fusion cutting
・Brazing

■Acetylene container
Acetylene gas is an unstable gas, so it is dangerous to fill it under pressure like other gases, so it is packed in special containers. Acetylene containers are filled with porous material (solid calcium silicate) without any gaps inside, and acetone or DMF* is infiltrated into this as a solvent. Acetylene can be safely handled by dissolving it in these solvents under pressure. *DMF: dimethylformamide
■Precautions when consuming acetylene
・Please use the container vertically.
- Use pressure reducing valves, pressure gauges, hoses, etc. specifically for acetylene.
・It is mandatory to install a flashback prevention device.
・Please open the container valve slowly.
・During welding/cutting work, keep the opening/closing handle of the container valve attached to the valve. (Thinking about the possible ignition accident)
・Please keep fire away from the acetylene container. Also, avoid welding sparks and protect the hose with a shield.
・Do not operate the regulator to adjust the pressure or close the container valve while the blowpipe (torch) is lit.
- Keep the consumption rate of acetylene below 1 kg/hour per container.
・When consuming at a rate exceeding 1 kg/hour, please use a manifold (collection device).
