About This Product

■High flexibility thanks to GERB's high-performance tuned mass damper

In addition to spring elements, elastomers and damper solutions, we offer high-performance vibration damping systems that meet your expectations and requirements. Tuned mass dampers cover a wide range of requirements with a frequency range of 0.1Hz to 200Hz and a vibratory mass range of 500g to 600t. All TMD systems are custom solutions that are always connected to a single point within the structure, tailored to the primary structure and its natural frequency.

■Configuration

・Vibration mass, ・Spring or pendulum ・And Visco® damper These are effective both horizontally and vertically. Most vertical applications use helical compression springs and viscous damping. For horizontal and torsional vibrations, GERB also offers tuned mass dampers using leaf springs or pendulums. Tuned mass dampers are primarily used for wide, tall, or slender structures that vibrate due to wind, machinery, or pedestrian traffic. Vibration can be easily reduced if the natural frequency and damping are low.

・Large, slender free-standing structures (bridges, chimneys, TV towers, antennas, etc.) ・Lightweight structures (pedestrian bridges, sidewalks, spectator seats, etc.) ・Reduction of structural vibrations caused by machinery (force imbalance, etc.)
