■Safety and reliability with GERB spring elements Spring elements use compression-wound springs and are used to safely support loads from structures on a project-by-project basis. The natural frequency depends on the vertical and horizontal elastic properties of the spring, the permanent load and the geometry of the supporting structure and lies in the range 1-5Hz vertically and 0.5-3Hz horizontally. The most economical support frequency is around 3-3.5Hz.
