About This Product
■A liquid level sensor that utilizes the phenomenon of refraction that occurs at the boundary between two different media.
・Identifies the medium in contact with the sensor based on the difference in refractive index between gas and liquid.
・There are two types: transparent type and reflective type.
- Transmissive type is a type in which light does not pass from the LED to the phototransistor in gas, but instead functions in liquid.
-Reflective type is a type in which the reflected light from the LED is received by a phototransistor in a gas and functions, but in a liquid, the light is transmitted and the phototransistor ceases to function.
- The fiber type liquid level sensor has the detection part and detection circuit connected by optical fiber, so it is possible to detect the liquid level in areas where electricity cannot be used.
・Customization is also possible.
■Principle of liquid level sensor (reflective type)
In air (when there is no liquid), the LED light is reflected at the boundary surface due to the difference in refractive index and is input to the photodetector. In liquid, there is little difference in refractive index, and the LED light passes through the interface and is not input to the photodetector.
